Cultural guided tour of Balmaseda

This guided tour is an opportunity for a local guide to show you around Bizkaia’s oldest charter town, founded in 1199. The starting point is the Plaza San Severino square. The tour begins with an overview of the history of our charter town and a visit to San Severino Church. You will then visit the medieval quarter and discover the traditions of its people. The tour takes in palaces, the mansions of the emigrants returning from The Indies, sun dials, sculptures, etc., and one of the town’s gems, The Old Bridge, a medieval bridge dating back to the 13th century. Your tour of Balmaseda also includes a visit to two museums, “The Balmaseda History Museum” and “The Balmaseda Living Stations of the Cross Interpretation Centre”. The tour lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes.
