Gorka Izagirre Winery

The Gorka Izagirre project promotes the recovery of txakoli wine in the Basque Country. Located in Larrabetzu, Gorka Izagirre is a part of the Azurmendi Restaurant (three Michelin stars) and the Eneko Restaurant (one Michelin star). It has 42 hectares of the native Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zerratia varieties on 14 small vineyards throughout nine municipalities. The vineyards are on slopes with an incline of up to 30%. Each plot is cultivated and the wines made in an independent winery, which enables the company to make regional wines that are exquisite and unique. It thus creates exclusive wines in the world market that are unique and different, fresh and fruity whites, as well as rarities such as wines made with grapes from a unique late harvest in the area.
